WDS error event ID 257 0xFFFFFBB3

Got a shiny new server that you're setting up Windows Deployment Services (WDS) on?

Try and start the WDS server and get a sequence of errors that look like this?:

Event ID 257, source WDSServer
Event ID 513, source WDSServer
Event ID 265, source WDSPXE
Event ID 261, source WDSPXE
Event ID 768, source BINLSVC
Event ID  783, source BINLSVC

The Windows Deployment Service cannot be started on a computer that has more than 20 logical processors and that is running Windows Server 2008 R2 or Windows Server 2008.

Especially if your logical processor count looks something like:

You've got too many cores. Some problems are good problems, right?
